LEADERS & MEANS

Monitor Goals during the year.

 

 

 

l. STEWARDSHIP & EDUCATION

 

1. Visit properties, locate boundaries, post with Land Trust signage. Start with:

Newgate Farm, Pond Lane, Great Marsh.

All properties with stewards. Stewards to do, assisted by EGLT members.

Finish/continue Griffin Marsh and Eastfield Farms.

 

 2. Prepare Property Management Plans:  Great Marsh (Herb), Fieldstone Farm ?, Metacomet / Old Newgate Ridge ? Other priority properties ?

Property Stewards, assisted by Ian Clark.

Find 2-3 new Stewards for properties.

(Have plans for: Griffin Marsh (awaits approval)/Cathy Delasco, Newgate Farm/Michelle Clifford, Eastfield Farm/Frank Negrotti, Pond Lane/Tom Howard/Steve Holt/Amanda Thompson – review/update)

 

 

 

3. Continue LAMP / AMP development.

    2 AMPS per property per year.

Identify & contact EGLT members living near properties.

 

 

4. Organize clean up / clear out and restoration projects.

Ian Clark+Stewards – Finalize stewardship calendar, pick some dates for sessions, and post on website, publish in Granby News.

Newgate Farm is 2010 priority.

 

Note: Ian working with UCONN/CIPWG – invasive removal volunteers/Pond Lane.

More invasive work remains at Griffin Marsh.

5. Plan 4 hikes: Winter, spring, June 5/ Nat’l/CT Trails Day, Fall

6. Sponsor educational program (local school or for public)

7. Participate in Land Trust Alliance National Conference, Hartford, CT Oct 2-5

As many Board Members as possible to attend. T.Howard proposed presentation on LAMP/AMP System.

1. Complete work for CL&P grant           ($200 Great Marsh kiosk)

Publicize hikes & activities.

3. Correct / get more members email addresses.

1. Get more publicity for Land Trust activities.

Add AMP Reports (but not in public areas of website).

 

 

3. Develop Scenic Walks of East Granby book.

V. FINANCIAL

 

1. Income to exceed expenses (build reserve fund)

Get new Land Trust members. Complete WHIP grant work.

 

 

VI. “WOULD BE NICE TO DO”

 

1. Update the property booklet.

 

2. Update Land Trust History.

 

3. Identify open space property for donation / purchase / easement (for possible large future grant application).

Work with larger property owners in town. Ridge Association. Check out marsh property behind the High School. Ridge/Metacomet trail along Roncari gravel pit.
