DIRECTORS JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Attend Board meetings when scheduled approximately six times a year.
  2. Take a leadership role in some aspect of the Land Trusts planned year.
  3. Participate and support the several land trust planned activities.
  4. Help recruit new members of both the land trust and the land trust board.

PRESIDENTS JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Develop with the Board of Directors goals, objectives, activities and budget for the fiscal year that carry out the mission statement of the East Granby Land Trust.
  2. Schedule meetings, set up agenda and run the meetings.
  3. Be the spokes person for the East Granby Land Trust.
  4. Facilitate the achievement of Land Trust goals etc.
  5. Activate Board members.
  6. Recruit Land Trust members to become BD members.

SECRETARY’S JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Keep the minutes of the Land Trust Board Meetings and of the LT Membership Meetings (The Annual Meeting).
  2. Be custodian of the important papers of the Land Trust and develop both a system for protecting these records and applying and using them where most appropriate.
  3. Keep up to date the official list of members of the Board of Directors and officers. Record terms of office for each Director or Officer and their successors.
  4. Assist the President in handling Land Trust correspondence.

 TREASURERS JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Handle all payments and receipts on behalf of the Land Trust.
  2. Keep the financial records of the Land Trust.
  3. Prepare a written report of income and expenditures of the Land Trust and balances in all accounts for each Board meeting.
  4. Prepare a schedule of dues reminders and with the Membership Chair develop a plan for membership promotion.
  5. Update the Membership List based upon dues payments received.
  6. Prepare along with the President a Budget for the coming Fiscal Year.
  7. Prepare an Annual Financial Report for the Annual Meeting.
  8. Have all records ready for an annual audit.

STEWARDS JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Take responsibility for one of the parcels owned by the East Granby Land Trust. When possible join the East Granby Land Trust Board.
  2. Walk the property at least three times a year and complete an Assessment and Monitoring of Property (AMP) report for each visitation. Be the eyes and ears of the East Granby Land Trust Board.
  3. Acquire all relevant maps and appropriate digital photographs so as to acquire an awareness of the official location and description of the property.
  4. Meet the neighbors of the property and get their perspective on the EGLT property and how it should best be used.
  5. Develop a Management Plan for the property and submit the plan for review by the Board of Directors. Implement the plan so approved. Review the Management Plan every two or three years.
  6. Periodically report to the AMP Committee Chair and/or the Board of Directors on the properties conditions. Bring to the AMP Chair and/or the Board any circumstance, activity or condition that would challenge the mission of the LT, threaten the conservation or long term protection of the property or be contrary to Land Trust Rules or goals.

Editor of a Quarterly EGLT NEWSLETTER of about two sheets, four sides and three pages of information: one page for the Presidents’ message, two pages for what is happening? Who is who on the Board? etc.

Stewardships for Metacomet Ridge, Metacomet II and III.

Clean Up/ Clear Out Session leadership.
