    Loop Path
There is a short loop through Pond Meadow that begins just before the pond and comes out across from 19 Pond Lane, thanks to neighbor Pat Evans, who mows it for EGLT. It gets you off the pavement and into the woods for a short walk. Check it out!

    Alder
Alder tree at Pond Meadow, right along the bank by the road. Alders belong to the birch family.

One of the great things about Pond Meadow is the diversity of wildlife there. Hawks, snakes, turtles, frogs, deer, green herons, great blue herons, etc. One of the not-so-great things about it is its diversity of invasives. This is a picture of multiple invasives on a tree near the road. Note that the only non-native species is the bittersweet. Pull a few vines next time you walk by!
